I love a statement piece that endures. One that impacts and leaves an impression. Perennially fresh and stirs intrigue. This Rag and Bone cape does just that for me, which is why it's my favorite fashion purchase ever. I bought it in 2012 from Holt Renfrew while I was living in Toronto. I'm surprised that I still haven't grown tired of such a bold piece. At the end of summer, when the leaves start to change, signalling fall, I actually look forward to cold weather, just so I can wear it. And here I am, in 2015, still feeling like I'm putting it on for the first time. As I gradually downsize my closets this new year, letting go of the excess, I'm struck by pieces like this cape that endure, in both style and quality. Evergreen. It inspires me to be more thoughtful in my purchases, to wait for 'the one'. Cheers to being a smarter and more disciplined shopper in 2015!

My sleek little clutch is a gift from the Pink Slip Boutique. I adore the snakeskin finish! This piece is also timeless (and really affordable!). A smart buy. You'll be seeing more of it. Shop here to get one just like mine. I love the taupe shade.

The five finger ring is by Eddie Borgo. The Sheridan booties are by Jeffrey Campbell. The sunglasses are Elizabeth and James.

Birmingham-based photographer and UAB medical student Devanshu Kaushik shot the photos in this post. I'm excited to be working with him on a special new project that I can't wait to share with you!
